Laptop Scheme
We are delighted to introduce to you our new laptop scheme initiative, working in partnership with Easy4U. The laptop scheme has been designed to make technology more accessible and affordable for all.
At this time the laptops will be for use at home only so should not be brought into school. In some circumstances, e.g., if a child has a specific need which means they routinely use a laptop, they may be able to bring their own device with agreement from the SEND team or another senior member of staff. Please note that it is not compulsory for a child to have a laptop or to bring their own device to school, but a lot of homework and revision materials are set using electronic platforms so access to a laptop is strongly recommended.
The Easy4U laptop scheme aims to empower your child to fully engage in their studies, foster independent learning, and develop essential digital skills. By providing them with their own affordable personal laptop, we aim to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all students have equal access to educational resources at home.
The laptop scheme will include the following benefits:
- Accidental Damage and theft cover (limited excess per damage/theft incident of £50.00, maximum of 3 incidents during the contract).
- Contract, administration, and handling of direct debit payments.
- Delivery and issuing of the laptops to each student.
- Optional extension of warranty from 12 months to 60 months for parts.
- Telephone and email support.
- Service portal for parents and carers to see an overview of subscription details, invoicing, and repairs.
- Service and maintenance available at the school and at home during non-term times.
- Replacement (loan) equipment during hardware repairs.
- Solid protective sleeve for the laptop
Due to the flexibility of the scheme, we are pleased to be able to offer four options of laptops so you can find one that suits you and your child’s needs. They are two different models each with the option of having a touchscreen. The Dell Latitude 3140 devices are budget-friendly, and the Latitude 3340 model is more premium. The device options are listed in the table below along with the different contract lengths and associated monthly payment:
